Sanatla ilk temasım, 90’lı yılların ortasında boya kokan atölyelerde, sessizce resimlere bakarken başladı. Mahir Güven ve Bahattin Odabaşı gibi usta hocaların yanında geçirdiğim üç yıl boyunca, sadece çizim yapmayı değil, bakmayı, görmeyi ve sezgilerle düşünmeyi öğrendim. Aynı yıllarda Moda Tasarımı eğitimi aldım; kumaşlarla, formlarla ve bedenle kurduğum ilişki sanata daha da yaklaştı.
Yolum beni Marmara Üniversitesi’ne taşıdı. Teknik Eğitim Fakültesi’nde Tekstil ve Hazır Giyim Tasarımı okudum, ardından Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi’nde Tekstil-Dokuma bölümünü tamamladım. Yüksek lisans tezimi “Sanatsal Tekstillerin Endüstriyel Tekstil Tasarımında Uygulanışı” üzerine yazarken, bir yandan da elin dokunuşuyla ruhun ifadesi arasında köprüler kurmaya çalıştım. Malzemenin diliyle iç sesim arasında bir diyalogdu bu.
2004’ten bu yana, ulusal ve uluslararası markalarla çalışan kurumsal firmalarda; desen, kumaş ve grafik tasarımı yapıyorum. Ama tasarım ne kadar işlevsel olursa olsun, hep bir hikâye barındırmalı bana göre — tıpkı bir dokunun hatırlattığı rüya gibi.
2019’da, S. Günay’ın Mixed Art Performersism projesiyle birlikte uzun bir aradan sonra yeniden sergi alanlarına döndüm. İki kişisel ve bir karma sergiyle, içimde birikenleri yüzeye çıkardım. O günden beri hem malzemeyle hem kendimle yeniden tanıştığım bir yaratım sürecindeyim.

My first encounter with art began in the mid-1990s, quietly observing paintings in paint-scented studios. During three years spent alongside master mentors like Mahir Güven and Bahattin Odabaşı, I learned not only how to draw but how to truly see, to observe, and to think intuitively. At the same time, I studied Fashion Design, deepening my connection with fabrics, forms, and the human body — bringing me even closer to art.
My path led me to Marmara University, where I studied Textile and Ready-to-Wear Design at the Faculty of Technical Education, followed by Textile and Weaving at the Faculty of Fine Arts. While writing my master’s thesis, titled “The Application of Artistic Textiles in Industrial Textile Design,” I sought to build bridges between the touch of the hand and the expression of the soul — a dialogue between the language of material and my inner voice.
Since 2004, I have been working in national and international corporate firms, creating patterns, fabrics, and graphic designs. For me, no matter how functional design may be, it should always carry a story — like a dream that a texture whispers.
In 2019, after a long pause, I returned to the exhibition scene through S. Günay’s Mixed Art Performersism project. With two solo and one group exhibition, I brought to the surface what had been growing inside me. Since then, I’ve been on a creative journey of rediscovery — both with the materials I work with and myself.
Because sometimes, a pattern speaks from where words fall silent.
